Three Wheels, One Wish

In the window of a cozy toy shop sits a small tricycle with three sturdy wheels and a shiny silver bell. Every day, children rush inside, their eyes lighting up at toys that blink, buzz, sing, and glow. They choose electronic games, flashing gadgets, and noisy toys that promise instant fun—while the quiet little tricycle is left behind.

The tricycle watches as boxes are carried out the door, one after another. Though he doesn’t light up or make music on his own, he dreams of real adventures: warm sunshine, smooth sidewalks, scraped knees, and laughter. Each night, as the shop grows dark, he makes the same wish—to be chosen and loved by a child.

Seasons change, newer electronic toys arrive, and still the tricycle waits. His bell grows dusty, but his hope remains. Then one calm afternoon, a young boy enters the shop. Unlike the others, he isn’t drawn to the flashing screens or beeping toys. He pauses at the window, notices the tricycle, and gently rings his bell.

“This one,” the boy says.

At home, the tricycle finally feels the ground beneath his wheels. He carries the boy down sidewalks and around corners, far away from screens and wires. His paint becomes scratched, his tires worn—but his wish is fulfilled.
